Siemens IA&DT took over the Flender gear unit and geared motor factory, along with its German parent in Bocholt, five years ago, and has been investing in the mechanical drives side of the business. The new factory has 30% more production space.
In line with Siemen's commitment to greener technologies, energy use is being benchmarked, along with water consumption and recycling.
