The new Uniscale-M measuring
machine from Mapal offers a
convenient way of eliminating losses
in productivity and profitability that
can result from using damaged or
out-of-specification cutting tools.
The Uniscale-M can quickly and accurately measure lengths, angles and radii on any type of drill, milling cutter or reamer. This makes it suitable for the inspection of new tools on receipt to ensure that they meet the required specifications before they enter the production chain; for checking tools that are in production use to determine the level of wear; and for carrying out checks on tools that have been reground, to ensure that the regrinding has been carried out correctly.
Based on a high-resolution camera system, the device has user-friendly software that makes it easy to measure key parameters. Coating thicknesses can be measured quickly and surface details on the tool can be viewed and analysed as an aid to evaluating wear. Diameters of up to 30mm can be accommodated.
