Although PPE can be used to protect from the dangers of breathing dust, a primary move should be to first remove or limit the generation of the dust. If this is not possible, the air that carries the dust should be captured and filtered. Helping with this task, modern class M extraction vacuums offer air speed measurement, high performance filtration and sealed dust disposal.

The Makita 447M class wet or dry extractor has a maximum airflow of 3.1m3/min a maximum sealed suction rating of 23kPa; automatic blockage warning and automatic filter cleaning to maintain the required performance in operation.

This 'X-treme' filter system automatically channels air pulses to both sides of the filter when the vacuum is switched on so that the filter is cleaned by pressure and the deposits sucked into the 45 litre capacity waste tank.

For masonry, concrete and plaster the Makita 446L extraction unit is a keenly priced 23kpa rated vacuum.
