The new NEBOSH Award in Safety, Health and Environment for the Process Industries will help employers and employees demonstrate competence in general health and safety, process safety and environmental management. I

It was developed in conjunction with Cogent, the Sector Skills Council for the Process Industries, employers, National Skills Academy for the Process Industries and NEBOSH/NSAPI accredited providers, and is a key part of Cogents Gold Standard.
The introductory qualification has four units:Workplace safety; fire, electrical and transport safety; manual handling; and hazardous substances. The second unit looks at risk assessment. Unit 3 deals with process safety including common risks and controls; containment; plant integrity and emergency response.
