Accredited to ISO 14001

Modular building specialist Portakabin has achieved reaccreditation to ISO 14001, the internationally recognised standard for reducing impact on the environment.

Mike Williams, general manager of Portakabin Hire, says: "For our customers, this means that the environmental impact of the buildings they hire from us is significantly reduced through the successful implementation of a fully accredited environmental management system.

"As a business, we are working on many levels to continually improve sustainability. Initiatives include reducing waste in the manufacturing process, increasing the recyclability of waste by employing intelligent design and highly efficient production methods, use of products with low embodied energy, and the manufacture of buildings which are thermally efficient."
