ESAB has introduced a new type of
welding glove that provides
protection against radiated heat at
up to 1500°C. This level of
protection is achieved on the back of
the glove using a combination of
woven ceramic fibres and aluminised
Kevlar fibres. On the palm of the
glove, high-grade 1.3mm side split
leather and Thermolate felt provide
contact heat protection to 1200°C.
Further features of the new glove include a full jersey lining, a wing thumb and fully welted Kevlar stitching. Despite the high specification, the glove is reported to remain comfortable when worn for extended periods.
