Stäubli has introduced a range of couplings for use on air conditioning systems including some of the most challenging refrigeration applications in the defence sector.

Many vehicles deployed in defence were designed for northern European environments, but are now used in regions that are hotter, drier and sandier. In-vehicle temperatures can exceed 50°C, calling for efficient air conditioning.

Frequently air conditioning condensers in front of the radiator need to be removed to gain access for cleaning and maintenance. This is made easier by being able to quickly disconnect the fluid lines of the refrigeration system without the need for draining and subsequent re-charging. Stäubli's SPF couplings are leak-free and easy to connect and disconnect using a robust screw locking mechanism, even under pressure; 400 connections are guaranteed before lubrication is required.Working pressure is to 80 bar.
