The Raiffeisen Bank in Gossau, Switzerland is using Frontrunner XT matting to provide safe passage for pedestrians on three footbridges which link the car-park to the bank's entrance. A problem occurred when the steel bridges got cold very quickly which in turn made the walkway surface icy and slippery.

The 100% vinyl open grid matting is made by Plastic Extruders and was specified by flooring specialist Wibatec. Its diamond cut surface provides increased traction and safety underfoot even in wet and icy conditions. Close grid construction makes it heel and wheel-proof and it is flexible enough to contour over the curve of the bridge.
