When Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge, had a major failure recently on one of its main 35,000lb/h steam boilers, it contacted King's Boiler Hire, whose Mildenhall branch is close by.

Kings was asked to urgently provide a temporary boiler to help cover the hospital's steam demand. The emergency unit was delivered and on line with minimum loss to the hospital.

King's involvement did not end there. As one of Europe's largest stockist of re-conditioned boilers, it had an almost identical 35,000lb/h steam boiler in stock at its Mildenhall branch.

King's director, David King, offered the unit to Addenbrookes, who promptly decided to purchase.

The boiler was fully refurbished and delivered to the hospital six weeks later. Addenbrookes was delighted with the rapid delivery and with the financial saving over buying a new boiler unit.
