Two Wellman Robey Robey-Loos steam raising boilers installed at Britvic Soft Drinks' Norwich facility in 2007 have proved to so efficient that a similar boiler has been installed at its Chelmsford plant.

The Norwich project involved supplying and installing two Robey- Loos UL-S IE 10,000 type, three pass wet back, single furnace steam boilers with integrated economizers, in the company's new Energy Centre.

The savings achieved in electricity alone resulted in prompt payback.

At Chelmsford (Britvic's Widford Factory), increased oil, gas and electricity costs and escalating repair and maintenance costs of old boiler plant presented Britvic with a similar situation to the one at Norwich. Old boilers were replaced with a Robey- Loos UL-S IE 10,000kg/h steam raising boiler. The new boiler together with an existing fire tube boiler now provide the steam that four water tube boilers previously supplied. Britvic are reported to be delighted with the efficiency that they have been able to attain.
