Heating system upgrade
29 November 2013
When Manchester Central Convention Centre decided to improve the efficiency of its Central Hall heating system, the facilities management team turned to Brammer for a solution which would reduce energy consumption and save costs.

Brammer’s technical team proposed that a systems upgrade to the heating system would result in significantly improved energy efficiency and reduce the venue’s carbon footprint.
Specifically, Brammer initiated the removal of 12 existing two-speed DOL-controlled IE1 electric motors and v-belt drives from acoustic cabinets to an area outside the building. These were replaced with WEG IE3 15kw and 55kw motors and WEG variable speed drives, complete with Gates Poly Chain drives to supply and extractor fans.
