Multi-process welder FOR HIGH PRODUCTION

27 January 2014

Weldability-Sif, UK based 'one stop source' for all welding products, has introduced a 350A lightweight, multi-process welding package that can be used for MIG, MAG, MMA and Touch-TIG welding in applications requiring both high productivity and high quality.

When compared to traditional rectifier welding equipment, the electronically-controlled MTS 350 power source is said to weigh 60% less and to have a footprint that is 65% smaller. This makes it easy to transport and a suitable choice if space is at a premium or for working in confined spaces.

The modular design allows the complete package to be used in a workshop for MIG, MAG, MMA and Touch-TIG applications. Alternatively the power source can be used independently for MMA and Touch-TIG applications in remote locations.

Typical applications include the manufacture of lorry bodies, trailers, off-road equipment, rolling stock, as well as wind turbine towers, structural steelwork, shipbuilding/offshore and general industrial fabrication.

For heavy fabrication environments the MTS 350 delivers 350A of welding current at 40% duty cycle and for high production it will operate at 220A with a 100% duty cycle. For MIG welding applications the operator can infinitely adjust the welding voltage between 16.5 and 31.5V, allowing precise tuning of optimum conditions.

Large LED displays are fitted to the power source to provide a clear indication of welding voltage and welding current settings.

A robust under carriage provides a stable working platform and swivel front castors provide easy manoeuvrability of the package, it will also accommodate a full size cylinder with easy load cylinder entry.

The machine operates from a 380V (+/-15%) three phase supply and can be powered from an engine driven generator to allow it to be used in remote locations.
