Saw tooth geometry said to boost performance
27 May 2014
LS Starrett has released two products in the Advanz saw blade range. Both the Starrett Advanz MC5 and Advanz MC7 feature carbide tipped teeth designed to make multiple chip cuts.

Advanz MC5 offers fast, precise cutting and an excellent surface finish. The ground teeth with positive rake angle have exclusive geometry that produces five chips during the sawing operation. Ideally suited to non-ferrous metals and castings the new blade provides cost saving benefits for production cutting.
For higher productivity and longer life when cutting hard materials the positive rake teeth on the MC7 blade feature exclusive geometry progressively ground trapezoidal cutting faces that produce seven chips. This results in an increased cutting speed, while maintaining blade life and precision, making it an ideal choice for efficient production sawing applications. The blade is ideal for difficult to cut steels, including steel above 45 HRc stainless steel, titanium and Inconel.
