Harbour visit to see what makes MWA Technology tick
14 July 2014
MWA Technology’s recent growth was in the political spotlight recently when the Conservative European Team visited its Birmingham site.

Led by European MP Malcolm Harbour, the delegation was keen to gain an insight into how the company has expanded from a home office in 1993 to one of the UK’s leading independent providers of meters, turning over £5m and employing 28 people in the process.
MD Martin Wardell provided a guided tour of MWA’s offices, workshop and dedicated distribution hub and explained why the desire for reducing energy usage has played a key role in the expansion.
"Every company wants to save money and one of the biggest costs facing firms these days is their energy, whether that is gas, electricity or water.
"It all starts with selecting the right meter, as this will give you an accurate picture of your usage and inform the decisions you need to make.”
He continued: "There’s been some major advancements in the meters you can choose and we’ve got more than 1000 in our range and a whole host of technical expertise to back it up.”
Malcolm Harbour (MEP) added his support: "The visit was very valuable to us, as current and future policy makers, to hear about the company’s journey and the way it has been able to build a strong business focused on great service.
"Gaining first-hand insight into the opportunities and challenges our firms face is crucial to ensuring we create the right conditions for growth.”
MWA Technology, which has been established for 21 years, currently supplies its metering solutions to distributors, contractors, OEMs and energy monitoring professionals, with high profile projects completed at Oxford University, Kew Gardens and Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre.
Recent investment has doubled the size of its logistics and warehouse operation as well as introducing new services to clients including repair and refurbishment of meters, testing, technical and on-site support.
