Wide downflow booth
28 November 2014
Engineers at Hosokawa Micron have recently completed manufacture of their widest Downflow Booth yet.

Spanning 11m wide, the Downflow Booth was designed and manufactured using Hosokawa Micron’s modular Downflow Booth concept which delivers construction affordability alongside almost limitless size capability.
Designed to meet the customer’s requirement for increased raw materials handling capacity, to meet growing market demands, the 11m wide Downflow Booth encapsulates 8 IBC filling stations and was engineered to suit the layout and available factory space.
The booth’s open fronted design uses no vertical supports offering unrestricted operator access into the booth and to the filling stations which makes for easy transfer of IBCs.
Hosokawa Micron's Carl Emsley adds: "In manufacturing a single booth rather than several smaller booths we can also offer customers real economies of scale – for example, in this instance, there is no need for several control panels; a single control panel manages the operation which in turn delivers a cost saving for the customer."
The Downflow Booth uses HEPA filtered air to push dusts or vapours down and away from the operators breathing zone, creating a cleaner, safer and more user-friendly processing zone.
