Awards evening approaches
19 January 2015
Momentum is gathering for the Fork Lift Truck Association's Annual Awards for Excellence, a showcase of some of the most outstanding and innovative technical developments to hit the materials handling industry over the last year.

Battling for an Archie award this year is a fork lift truck with a cabin that rotates like a tank turret, lift forks with laser positioning guides and a 3D stereoscopic vehicle camera that looks out for humans in its path. There’s also an electronic truck co-pilot that alerts operators to danger, a tyre that tells you when it needs changing and a shortlist of some of the safest fork lift truck sites in the country.
TV presenter Jonny Gould will host the Oscars-style awards ceremony, which is followed by a three-course dinner, charity auction, and an after-show party that includes live music and a late night DJ as the fork lift truck fraternity hits the dance floor.
Perhaps more importantly though, the evening offers an opportunity to chat and catch up and with old or distant colleagues or network with prospective business clients from across the country.
The FLTA website – http://fork-truck.org.uk/flta-awards – has more details of the event which takes place on Saturday 28th February at The International Centre, Telford.
