Safety champion announced
14 October 2015
The Fork Lift Truck Association has declared Nick Moore, Stock and Yard Manager of Brett landscaping and Building Products, the winner of the first FLTA Safety Champion Award.

Sponsored by Briggs Equipment UK, the award recognises those who have shown exceptional commitment to positive change at their site, making it safer for all who work on, or in close proximity to, forklift trucks.
Moore was nominated by the company’s SHEQ manager for his work, improving safety at the site in Barrow-upon-Soar. As well as developing an improved traffic management system, he secured £137,000 in capital expenditures to implement this, and other safety projects. This resulted in an additional 3,450m2 of useable stockyard, wider roadways, enclosed pedestrian walkways, improved road markings, elimination of vehicle queuing on roads, and more.
