ESD flooring installed with no disruption to production
20 July 2015
West Control Solutions has completed a major expansion of its UK manufacturing centre in Brighton, creating new jobs and increasing output capability.

Critical to the project’s success was the planning and logistics management required to ensure disruption to customers was kept to a minimum and, as part of this, Ecotile Flooring was chosen to install its ESD interlocking floor tiles. Phase one was completed in February 2014; phase two in May 2015. In total 1200m² of grounded Ecotile was installed while production continued at full capacity.
Steve Allen, operations director, explains "As an electronics manufacturer the quality and integrity of our products is paramount and a conductive floor is an integral part of production. It wasn’t viable for us to shut down operations to install an ESD floor so the fact that Ecotile could go straight over the top while we continued to work was a huge advantage. We have used different colours to delineate walkways and now only need to do one monthly test to check the floor is giving us the ESD protection we need.”
Ecotile is guaranteed for ten years and is fully compliant with British and European standards.
