Trolley service for turbo firm
10 May 2016
Trolleys designed and assembled by MiniTec are helping to solve a handling problem for an international manufacturer of turbo systems at its Bradford premises.
Turbo shafts are manufactured at the site using multiple machining operations carried out on different machines. Moving work-in-progress between machines can be a problem, especially if the parts cannot be easily loaded onto transporters.
MiniTec designed and assembled 16 trolleys for the customer using its 30 x 30 aluminium profile system. Each trolley can carry up to eight trays of parts with a maximum weight of 60kg, providing a simple solution to a potentially costly and time-consuming handling issue.
At the heart of the MiniTec system is the Powerlock fastening method which requires no specific preparation, pre-machining or special tools and uses standard off-the-shelf fasteners. MiniTec says this reduces the cost of the overall package of profiles and locking system compared with many other systems which incorporate brand specific locking systems.
