Partnership made at the top of The O2

03 April 2017

When the O2 needed a safety partner it turned to Arco which has a large, dedicated team of NEBOSH-qualified experts who can provide customers with practical advice and guidance, as well as a range of quality safety products and training services to keep people safe.

As well as supplying safety solutions to those who work in and around the O2, Arco’s role included the design of bespoke solutions for keeping visitors to the 'Up at the O2' experience safe, as they conquer the summit of the building. This provided Arco with a unique set of challenges – 380m of flexible fabric walkway, changeable weather conditions and urban mountaineers of all ages, sizes and abilities wanting to enjoy this experience, safely.

Arco’s designers developed a climb shoe that provides comfort, grip and durability, a safety harness that is simple to operate, strong and durable and a climb suit for all weathers that is both, breathable, waterproof and practical with pockets for mobile phones for the important ‘selfie’ opportunities at the summit.

Richard Musgrave, brand manager at Arco said: “Our ability to create bespoke solutions for unique sets of safety problems is just one reason why we are the safety partner of choice for some of the UK’s leading companies.  Our contract with the O2 is a real example of the benefits of developing genuine partnerships with our customers.  We understand their business and what they need to keep their staff and customers safe at this iconic venue.  Through innovative, bespoke design and our unique offering of workwear, PPE, training and consultancy, we can build solutions around the O2’s distinct safety challenges and offer a long term and reliable partnership to build on.”
