Bobcat Demo Days 2025 feature hands-on experience with new generation of 1-2 tonne mini excavators
06 June 2025
THE DOOSAN Bobcat headquarters for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) in Dobris, close to Prague in the Czech Republic, again played host to a successful Bobcat Demo Days event from 26 May to 4 June 2025.

Hundreds of existing and prospective customers visited the event in this period, where over 70 products from the Bobcat range were showcased, most of which were available for testing.
Blending established products with new developments, attendees at Demo Days 2025 took the opportunity to try out and assess the full range of Bobcat equipment. This encompassed extensive lineups of compact machinery (including loaders, mini excavators, telehandlers, light compaction, compact tractors, mowers and turf equipment), portable power products (including compressors, generators and lighting towers) and material handling equipment (including forklifts and warehouse solutions), complemented by a broad range of matching attachments.
"Since 2011, Demo Days has been providing a great platform for our Bobcat dealers and their customers to try out a wide selection of machines and over 100 different types of attachments in working conditions. The event continues to reflect the very close relationship between Bobcat and its customers from all around EMEA," said Jan Moravec, VP of product, Bobcat EMEA.
One of the highlights was the first showing at Demo Days of the company’s new groundbreaking R2-Series 1-2 tonne mini excavator models, alongside a new upgrade to the R2-Series E88 mini excavator, the top-of-the-range model in Europe.
New SmartFlow Hydraulic System for Maximum Productivity
The new generation R2-Series 1-2 tonne mini excavators include the E16, E17z, E19 and E20z models, replacing the previous M-Series E17, E17z, E19 and E20z machines, respectively. The R2-Series introduces several new features, notably its high-performance SmartFlow hydraulic system. This system uses a load-sensing pump bundled with a closed center/flow-sharing main control valve. All of this is powered by a new engine, creating an engineering setup that is exceptionally sophisticated for compact machines of this size.
Like in larger machines, the new hydraulic system in the new 1-2 tonne mini excavators allows the operator to smoothly carry out multiple functions simultaneously. When working with equipment that requires a lot of hydraulic power, such as a flail mower on a quick coupler running at full speed, the operator can drive, slew and lift smoothly at the same time.
Top-of-the-Range E88 Mini Excavator
Bobcat also showcased an enhanced version of the top-of-the-range E88 R2-Series mini excavator. This 9-tonne machine offers enhanced operator comfort, an improved fit and finish, additional standard features and the availability of multiple predefined configurations. The increased level of operator comfort results from the use of the Fritzmeier cab, offering improved window and windscreen open and close access, reduced noise and vibrations, and additional standard features and options. The E88 delivers outstanding performance from a compact dimension machine and excellent stability with high digging output.
New Remote Engine Disable/Enable Feature for Machine IQ
Like all Bobcat machines, all the new Bobcat mini excavators as well as many of the other machines on show come equipped with the Machine IQ telematics system, allowing operators to monitor machine performance remotely. Visitors to this year’s Demo Days were able to see the new Remote Engine Disable/Enable feature on the Machine IQ platform for the first time. The new feature allows customers to remotely enable or disable their machine’s engine through the Owner Portal or Machine IQ app.
Collision Warning and Avoidance System
As before, Bobcat Demo Days 2025 continued to present a number of cutting-edge, industry-leading innovations. These included Bobcat’s new Collision Warning and Avoidance System installed on a S76 skid-steer loader. This system leverages machine-integrated radar sensors to enhance the situational awareness of skid-steer and compact track loader operators. The cutting-edge technology can be customized to suit site-specific requirements, offering real-time obstacle and risk detection and a variety of response options.
The Doosan Bobcat Campus at Dobris
The Dobris Campus is a unique operation among Doosan Bobcat’s many facilities around the world. Not only is Dobris home to the headquarters, Innovation Center and the training centre for EMEA, it also includes the Bobcat manufacturing plant, which produces a significant proportion of the company’s compact machines destined not only for EMEA but for many other markets worldwide. At Dobris, Doosan Bobcat has all of the company’s engineering, development, production and management capabilities under one ‘roof’ on the Campus. As a result, the Dobris Campus is an unrivalled venue for an event like Demo Days, where Bobcat customers and dealers can see and try out new products.
