Rubix UK acquires Hydra Engineering Services
19 February 2020
Rubix UK has completed the acquisition of specialist hydraulics services supplier, Hydra Engineering Services (Hydraflow Hydraulics), in line with the Group’s network development strategy.
Hydraflow Hydraulics specialises in the repair and reconditioning of large cylinders and offers considerable expertise in MRO services. These services include on-site fault-finding and testing of hydraulic pumps, power pack refurbishment, build and custom design, as well as valve repair.
Hydraflow Hydraulics primarily serves steel, recycling, marine, industrial and quarrying and mining industries and related heavy plant machinery.
With a team of 18 highly skilled hydraulic engineers, Hydraflow Hydraulics is based in Gloucester and Somerset, and has an additional site in Newport, South Wales. Sales for the year ended 30 June 2019 were £2.7m.
Reporting to Nigel Banks, MD Services Division, Rubix UK, Stuart Parker will continue in his role as managing director at Hydraflow Hydraulics, which will operate as an independent specialist hydraulic repair division.
For Rubix UK, this acquisition brings significant opportunities to its customers, particularly in relation to condition monitoring services, hydraulic repair and technical expertise.
Hydraflow Hydraulics will establish a centre of excellence for hydraulics, acting as a key strategic addition to Rubix’s existing engineering and services centres.
Mark Dixon, CEO Rubix UK, says: “This acquisition further enhances Rubix as a multi-specialist supplier and supports our ambition to be recognised for our hydraulic products, services and expertise – a market we have identified as a key growth area for the UK business.
“My colleagues and I would like to welcome the Hydraflow Hydraulics team and its customers and suppliers to the Rubix family, as we work together to provide our customers across the UK with a comprehensive hydraulic services offering.”
Stuart Parker, managing director, Hydraflow Hydraulics, says: “Our expertise combined with Rubix UK’s existing multi-specialist approach and reach will help us to grow outside of our current geographical footprint and extend our expertise across the UK. We are really looking forward to working on these opportunities as a part of the Rubix family.”
