RUD Group further expands automated machining
01 February 2021
INVESTMENT IN a new turning/milling machine is enabling RUD Group to machine a range of components economically and to the highest quality.

Large orders for machined components regularly presented a challenge to RUD Group's Mountable Lifting Means Division in terms of meeting lead time expected by the customer. To meet requirements, machining of a series of components has now been transferred to Unterkochen.
The company has a new turning/milling centre, type G220, from Index. Automatic component loading and unloading is integrated in the equipment. This allows RUD Group to operate the machine unmanned for up to one shift.
Thanks to the five-axis-compatible motorised milling spindle and a tool turret with Y-axis, the G220 can execute almost any turning and milling process extremely flexibly and is well suited to demanding component machining.
The compact, user-friendly automated loading and unloading solution can be connected easily to the turning-milling centre. The entire project was carried out successfully within six months .
This machining centre allows RUD Group to further increase flexibility and reliability of supply and the company has been able to take a significant step in the automated processing of complex, high precision and demanding parts. Visit: www.rud.com
