MEWPs and flexible service offering

15 June 2019

Genie, a leading brand of mobile elevating work platforms and its Platform Service Repair (PSR) team will be attending the Facilities Show 2019.

Products on display will include the new 'micro-sized', 100% electric-powered Genie GS -1330m scissor lift and time-proven Genie GL-4 push-around material lift.

Highlighting the brand’s commitment to supporting machine uptime, the Genie and PSR teams will be on-hand throughout the event to offer facilities management professionals the opportunity to learn more about the advantages of these brands’ flexible service offering.

“It can be a challenge to stay on top of machine maintenance, particularly in a market where recruitment, training and retention of skilled engineers are a challenge,” says Kate Barratt, senior manager services UK, Terex AWP. “We want to assist facilities management companies in reducing the cost of training their own engineers and increase their machine uptime.”

She continues: “In addition to extensive coverage across the UK and Ireland, backed by our responsive and skilled team of more than 30 service technicians, comes our Whole Fleet Management solutions offering. This is a great asset that allows customers to rely on our team’s strengths leaving them the peace of mind they need to focus on their core business.”

Genie GS-1330m electric scissor lift

Launched at bauma in Munich in April, the Genie GS-1330m scissor lift is designed to adapt to space and weight-restricted working at height applications. Totally emissions-free and quiet to operate, this compact, lightweight, robust machine is particularly well suited to the needs of facilities management tasks. Offering a maximum platform height of 3.9m, a maximum working height of 5.9m, and weighing just 885kg, the Genie GS-1330m scissor lift combines a lift capacity of up to 227kg to take two people on the platform with the benefits of a power-efficient e-drive system to enable full day productivity.

Drive enabled at full height and in stowed position, in addition to the ability to climb up to 25% graded slopes, the compact dimensions of the Genie GS-1330m scissor lift afford excellent jobsite accessibility and transportability. Measuring just 1.4m long and 0.78m wide and weighing less than the service elevator capacity limitation of 1000kg, the Genie GS-1330m scissor lift is able to access jobsites previously off limits to heavier slab scissors and vertical masts.

This new 'micro-sized’ machine also incorporates Genie Smart Link control system that simplifies troubleshooting with easy-to-read and user-friendly onboard machine adjustments and diagnostics. The Genie Smart Link control system is compatible with the Genie Tech Pro Link handheld diagnostics tool. The Genie Tech Pro Link tool is a handheld diagnostics device that allows users access to real time data, calibration or fault code information and gauges. It also allows users to make settings adjustments, such as speed and so much more — all from the palm of their hand. This new device combines smart, simple features with an integrated flashlight and a magnetic attachment for easy, hands-free operation. For Genie scissor lifts, this means the ability to stand upright while using the Genie Smart Link diagnostics control system at ground level.

Genie GL-4 lift

With three base models and many accessories to choose from, the Genie GL-4 lift is designed for use as a hand truck, forklift or as a dolly, making it well suited for carrying, receiving and lifting heavy material to or from shelves, installing and repairing HVAC components, transporting computer and server components, among a wide variety of other materials.

Available in standard, straddle base or counterweight base versions, it features a telescoping aluminium frame design that makes it extremely compact. Weighing just 57kg, it offers a lift capacity to 227kg and maximum lift height of 1.80m. In standard base version, its compact design and low loading height allows users to lift and manoeuvre in congested work areas. In the straddle base version, adjustable base legs allow it to straddle loads or fixed objects up to 91cm wide, making it suitable for lifting small pallets, appliances and other bulky objects. In counterweight base version, the short leg length allows users to get close to loads, which is excellent for accessing loads on countertops or shelves above fixed objects on level surfaces. Additional platform, boom, ladder and wheel and castor options provide the ability to customise the machine for increased versatility and value.
