Some of the largest boom lifts in the AFI-Uplift fleet were signed up to help contractors working at the Ricoh Arena, home of Coventry City football club.

Shot blasting, painting and fire protection specialist, Site Coat Services, hired three JLG Ultra booms, together with a Haulotte boom, to provide the height and reach required to paint the roof above the stadium stands.

The JLG booms comprised two 1350 SJPs with a platform height of 41.15m and an 800AJ (platform height 24.38m). The 1350 SJP has a work envelope of 2.1 million cubic feet. The Haulotte boom was a HA 32PX, with a platform height of 30m.

Site Coat Services director, Simon Black, said: "Before hiring the powered access equipment we had to consider the height and outreach which we needed to be able to undertake our work safely and efficiently. The AFI boom lifts, which are among the largest we hire, were more than adequate for our needs."
