Small character laser coder
23 July 2018
Macsa ID UK, a newly-established division of global laser coding, marking and scoring equipment manufacturer, Macsa ID, will be exhibiting at the PPMA show for the first time and will display its lightweight ICON 2 small character laser coder.

ICON 2 is said to offer permanent, consistent and durable marking in a cleaner, more usable and sustainable design. It is suitable for first time laser users in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and chemical processing and packaging markets.
As part of a recent upgrade, the laser coder now has a metal enclosure for extra robustness, a more efficient and reliable power supply, and is available in both 10 and 30W versions. It is also available with network connectivity as standard.
A new external colour touch screen with intuitive interface enables simple navigation, ease of programming and better functionality, especially where the ICON 2 is installed in difficult-to-reach areas.
The low maintenance ICON 2 is said to offer a cleaner, more energy efficient design. It does not require costly consumables so there are no messy ink deposits or noxious solvent emissions.Improved filters help keep the laser and electronics cool and clean.
The ICON 2 is capable of marking on most substrates including labels, cartons, plastics, glass, wood and textiles. Unlike the first ICON model, it can print both linear and 2D barcodes. Static barcoding is available as standard whilst dynamic barcoding is optional.
It uses high performance optics, powerful hardware and advanced, low overhead software to enable its core laser to meet the speeds of most production lines. Meanwhile, its compact, lightweight design means it can be easily installed in locations where space is limited.
The ICON 2 laser coder is supplied with mounting stand, lens protection and product detect photocell. Stand G48
