The TP temperature plug from ifm is
designed to replace cumbersome,
leaky boxes with modern electronics
and connector technology.
The company already supplies type TT or TS Pt100 and Pt1000 temperature pickups with an integral M12 connector for ease of connection, a seal of at least IP67, and a robust mechanical link. That probe can now be plugged directly into the TP, which will send the resulting measurement as a 4-20mA signal back to the panel via another M12 sealed connector.
Using M12 connectors all round means the transmitter can be mounted anywhere between the probe and the panel.
The company says the TP is a fraction of the size of a head transmitter, robust, and can be scaled from a PC using a USB interface.
