Online MEWP Hire
27 January 2015
AFI has become one of the UK’s first powered access hire companies to provide machine rental through a fully integrated online reservation service.

Following a relaunch of the company’s website, www.afi-uplift.co.uk, customers can now view, choose and reserve machines from an extensive hire fleet at their convenience through the AFI Online Hire Service.
After selecting a specific scissor lift, boom lift, push around vertical or mast lift, customers can check availability by entering their postcode, a hire start and an estimated off hire date. Customers can check ‘live’ availability to ensure that reservations can be fulfilled.
AFI Director Nick Selley said: "We believe that many of the features we’ve included are a first in the UK for a powered access hire company. This includes simple functions such as order history, which is offered by most online retailers. We recently had feedback from our customers that they would welcome a simple and easy to use online service, so we worked quickly to make it happen.”
New customers can simply open a trading account online, and customers with accounts can register with the new service by creating usernames and passwords. This will allow them to log on to the secure system as and when required.
As well as introducing online hire, AFI has also enhanced the website to give it a clean and fresh new look, with useful information such as Health & Safety documents and links to other AFI group websites.
The relaunched website also shows which machine ranges are available for 24 or 48h delivery and the IPAF machine training category that a customer needs to have completed to operate a specific machine. Customers can also email enquiries or have a ‘Live Chat’ with an adviser.
