Going the extra mile

Heavy snowfall and freezing conditions in the run up to Christmas were no match for Crown engineers operating in Scotland.

Gerry Gregory, Crown Lift Trucks service engineer, was snowed-in when local cash and carry business, United Wholesale Grocers, called him with the news that its one-andonly counterbalance forklift was cutting out.

Gregory diagnosed the problem over the phone, packed the required tools and parts in a backpack and set off on foot to finish the job.
