Clive Halliday, Thorite's process and vacuum manager, says that as the choice of air tool products grows, the related legislation also increases. For example, he says customers now have to consider the implications of dust inhalation from the use of the tools and whether to install centralised or de-centralised extraction systems.

To help with this, Halliday has introduced a training course combining 'hands on' experience with a range of related subjects including operational features, compressed air requirements, potential applications, relevant markets and industries, legislation and safety.

Two of Thorite's key account managers, Dave Beckett and Kevin Johns, recently completed a period of intensive training to become Air Tool Champions, enabling them to advise on the correct air tool choice and best working practices.
