Following its acquisition in 2006 of
ISO 14001 certification for its
approach to welding products
manufacture and environmental
practices, the ESAB Group has
continuously reviewed its methods to
reduce environmental impact. The
company has recognised that some of
the dyes used to colour electrode
coatings can be environmentally
detrimental.
The decision has therefore been made to remove the green dye used in the coating of the Murex branded Vortic Marine welding electrode. This dye is purely a recognition feature and does not contribute to the performance and properties of the product.
The coating colour is being changed to grey and the new colour electrodes will be seen as stocks become available through distribution channels.
