Watson-Marlow 501FDC/RL WAY TO COLLECT DATA OEM pumps have been selected for use in the new Hydrocell wastewater sampler system developed by Halifax-based Pulsonic Technologies.

Liam Duffy, Hydrocell's, business development manager, says: "A lot of the trade effluent produced by companies such as food manufacturers flows through underground drains where the pump lift often needs to be as much as 7m. Normally an additional pump would be required to accommodate this, but the capability of the Watson-Marlow pump saves this extra cost." The 501FDC/RL OEM pump comprises a single channel 501RL pumphead, a powerful 12V direct current motor, the new Watson- Marlow gearbox and an aluminium faceplate. The 501FDC/RL provides the highest torque output, pump speeds and flow rates of all Watson-Marlow OEM pumps.

"An engineer from Watson-Marlow provided input to the development of our Hydrocell systems," says Duffy. "He worked with us to make sure the specification and capability was suitable for the Hydrocell range." The 501FDC/RL is used in both of the Hydrocell models developed by Pulsonic - a cost effective two-bottle system, and a higher spec four-bottle refrigerated unit - suitable for preserving effluent containing highly degradable material.
