Holroyd Machine Tools and Components, a division of the Precision Technologies Group (PTG), has sold a further two TG 350E rotor grinding machines to a stateowned Chinese company that produces screw air compressors and refrigeration rotors, in an order worth £2m.

Holroyd's TG Series rotor grinding machines provide a high level of accuracy and aggressive stock removal capability. The TG Series can reduce overall machine requirements in many production contexts and handle different production rates and accuracies. A touch screen operating system provides ease of use and combines the latest industry hardware with advanced application/network systems.

Other recent orders from China include a 30m x 4m gantry Crawford Swift 'Powerstir' FSW machine, commissioned from PTG Heavy Industries in a joint project with China Friction Stir Welding Centre. It is used in the manufacture of railway car bodies and has proved such a success that PTG is to supply three more units.
