Stockport businessman Tony
Hughes is helping spearhead a
campaign to promote the
contribution small companies can
make in the economic recovery.
At a meeting in the Houses of Parliament organised by the Forum of Private Business, Hughes, who is MD of Hughes Safety Showers, was invited to outline his approach to business to a group of MPs and business owners.
Hughes shared some of the secrets that have made his company a success in emergency safety showers.
He offered advice on surviving the current difficult trading conditions and how to make the most of new opportunities. He emphasised the important role played by small companies in Britain and suggested ways in which many could learn from his experience.
"Despite the economic downturn, some small to medium size businesses are continuing to do well.
I think those of us who have weathered the storm successfully have a responsibility to help others so that we can all play our part in the recovery." His final plea was for 'a banking system that will support us in our endeavours."
