Call Systems Technology's (CST)
AlarmCall system is designed to
reduce time the wasted in reacting to
false alarms, yet it preserves high
levels of safety.
CST says that the system is now implemented in ASDA stores in the UK. Customers and staff must be evacuated when a fire alarm occurs.
Every evacuation causes lost sales, wasted food and other losses, and false alarms are upsetting for customers. ASDA opted for CSTs AlarmCall system in its stores as it reduced false evacuations by half in trials (and continues to do so).
AlarmCall equips trained Fire Investigators to distinguish between emergencies and false alarms in the time between an alarm sounding and the fire service being called. CST pagers, connected wirelessly to the system, receive an alarm's location.
Safeguards detect when multiple devices activate simultaneously and call out the service.
