In three days of RoSPA Occupational
Health and Safety Awards ceremonies
about 1500 organisations were
recognised for their commitment to
continuous improvement on accident
and ill health prevention.
Among the highlights was the presentation of RoSPA's highest competitive accolade - the Sir George Earle Trophy, which dates back to 1956 - to Finning (UK).
Another highlight was the presentation of a special award to the Olympic Delivery Authority to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen, RoSPA's patron.
The Awards, sponsored by NEBOSH, recognise entrants' overarching health and safety management systems, including practices such as strong leadership and workforce involvement, and encourage continuous improvement.
Almost 2000 entries were submitted for this year's Awards, a record for the scheme.
