McPhersons has added three Joloda aluminum slatted Moving Floor trailers to its fleet which is now around 30 vehicles, to transport barreled spirits around Scotland. The trailers were installed and delivered in January.

McPhersons is a bulk spirits logistics specialist in Scotland and Northern England. It transports for Chivas and Teachers, among others. The Joloda Moving Floor system is designed to automatically load and unload 96 barrels of whisky, weighing about 23t, in one shot at the drain and fill site in Dumbarton.

The plant output equates to a maximum of 1900 casks per day with an average of 1500 per day. The moving floors then unload and load by fork truck at the remote bond storage sites by indexing double stacked pallets forwards and backwards with a 10s time delay controlled by infrared beams and photo electric cells.
