Cofely, a GDF SUEZ company, has been awarded a long term contract to operate and maintain the CHP energy centre at Dow Corning's facility in Barry, South Wales.

energy centre at Dow Corning's
facility in Barry, South Wales.
The centre comprises a gas and steam turbine CHP, multiple high pressure waste heat recovery boilers and low pressure boilers. It is capable of generating 250t of steam per hour and up to 28MW of electricity. The heat and electrical efficiencies achieved qualify as 'good quality CHP' under the CHP Quality Assurance Programme.
Cofely will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance of water treatment systems which provide boiler feed water and treated water to the site.
