SWAGELOK M200 PORTABLE CALIBRATION UNIT
13 June 2013
EXTENDS SERVICING CAPABILITIES TO EQUIPMENT OWNERS

Designed to streamline orbital welding power supply
maintenance, Swagelok Company introduces the new Swagelok® M200
portable calibration unit. The advanced M200 portable calibration unit
delivers on-site power supply maintenance, providing added convenience, reduced
costs, and improved efficiencies that can cut servicing timelines from
days to minutes.
The calibration unit allows for immediate calibration of a Swagelok
welding system M200 power supply. Many quality systems require orbital
welding power supplies to be calibrated periodically. Traditional
calibration processes are completed offsite at a designated service location;
leaving operations idling or needing to incur extra expense with rental
equipment. Portable calibration helps minimize down time, which is key for
remote or secured environments; such as, offshore oil drilling platforms,
nuclear plants, and government sites that cannot easily arrange power supply
transport to and from service centers.
The M200 portable calibration unit is designed with enhanced technology
focused on promoting efficiency through the welding process. On-screen
navigation on the M200 power supply prompts users to initiate the calibration
process. The calibration unit then performs various diagnostics and measures
output levels. The calibration unit is designed to specifically calibrate based
on critical welding variables including:
-
Current – Automatic calibration to ensure proper current
output for future welds.
-
Voltage – Provision of simple, on-screen adjustments to
match actual values with expected values.
-
Travel speed – Electrode travel speed is verified and
adjusted real-time via the M200 operating software, eliminating the need
for frequent calibration. This verification is displayed and documented as part
of the calibration software, making documentation easier for users.
