Care package upgraded

16 May 2014

Q8Oils will be using its stand at Subcon 2014 (3rd to 5th June, NEC) to launch QCare, an upgrade of its Field Service Technician (FST) service, which monitors the condition of Q8Oils metalworking fluids and lubricants in a wide range of applications such as turning, cutting and grinding.

Originally launched in 1992, Q8Oils’ Field Service Technician (FST) service was an instant hit and was so well received in the wider industry that it received the Metalworking Production ‘Technical Innovation’ award in 1994. Now, more than 20 years on, Q8Oils is launching the 3G enabled, tablet-based QCare system.

Visitors to the Q8Oils stand will also be offered the opportunity to get the best from the wide range of metalworking fluids currently available from the company and keep up-to-date with this rapidly developing technology. Visitors can also learn how the right lubricant choice can speed up production, extend product and tool life and reduce costs.

Q8Oils will also be using its stand to promote its Q8 Baroni and Q8 Bach ranges of industrial metalworking oils, including the recently launched Q8 Bach AHM and Q8 Baroni XHS cutting fluids.

Q8 Bach AHM extends Q8Oils’ range of neat cutting fluids with the introduction of a medium viscosity, heavy-duty machining fluid that features a powerful active EP package and heavy lubricity agent. It has been specially formulated for cutting, milling, thread grinding, deep-hole and gun drilling applications; as well as broaching operations using non-ferrous materials. As its EP additive package provides boundary lubrication at the vital tool tip/chip interface, Q8 Bach AHM can also be used to machine extremely demanding steel alloys.

The company’s Q8 Baroni XHS is a water-based cutting fluid that has been designed for general machining applications including deep hole drilling, boring, skiving and roller burnishing that benefits from long-term stability and full tramp oil rejection.
