Low power solenoid valves

02 September 2014

A new low-power solenoid valve from E.MC is available from Tom Parker. The E.MC NC and NM low-power solenoid valves offer reliable performance and are available in various flow rates, port sizes and voltages, making them suitable for many applications where dependable low power operation is required.

E.MC’s dedicated R&D team has created a low-power solenoid valve with a 0.5W consumption rating which offers a reliable operating performance. The E.MC NC series offers 0.5Ww power with a life of 30 million cycles and is available in 12 and 24VDC. The larger valve body size NM series offers about 0.8-0.9W power consumption with a life of 20 million cycles and is available in 12, 24VDC, 110 and 240VAC. Both series have a working pressure rating of 0.15-0.8MPa with a guaranteed pressure of 1.2MPa. Furthermore the valves have an excellent flow rate and only require filtration to 25μm.

Tom Parker says that, due to the low power and low electric current of the E.MC NC and NM series solenoid valve, the PLC’s life is extended and the need for relays is eliminated. Additionally smaller, less costly power supplies can be used, reducing installation and operating costs and enabling more solenoid valves to be driven by one PLC within the same load capacity.

Sales manager Sebastian Cole comments: "Our new range of economical, competitively priced and reliable low-power E.MC solenoid valves is an exciting product addition. They provide extremely reduced power consumption levels and outstanding flow control that can accommodate virtually any low-power application."
