Increase in thermal efficiency
23 September 2014
Researchers from Sheffield University Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering have carried out extensive tests of a Magnatech Fuel Conditioning System on their laboratory boiler and confirmed the manufacturer's claim that the efficiency of combustion is improved when units are positioned as instructed.

The researchers were able to measure an increase of 11.1% in thermal efficiency and a reduction in harmful NOx gasses of 10%. There was a rise in flame temperature and water temperature increased more quickly as a result, and less fuel was burnt to achieve set point.
Magnatech units use powerful permanent magnets arranged in a particular pattern on the outside of the fuel line. The researchers examined aspects of flame and temperature changes, altered fuel rates and oxygen mixtures and tested boiler performance both with and without Magnatech units.
