Cutting the cost of tooling

30 September 2014

Carbide cutting tool manufacturer, Quickgrind, says many of its customers have slashed their tooling costs by more than 50%, without compromising on quality, since switching to its specialist remanufacturing service.

At the Advanced Engineering show, the team will be talking about some of the secrets of its customers’ success and demonstrating how Quickgrind’s ‘total engineering approach’ ensures customers’ exact requirements are matched with a quality off-the-shelf tool that can be used again and again – typically up to seven times. The company says this enables customers to deliver great performance, while making savings in excess of 50%.

Ross Howell, MD, comments, "We already have an international reputation for our market-leading solutions, which are exported worldwide to customers across a myriad of engineering sectors. However, in the UK our offering has been one of the best kept secrets and we believe it’s time customers, on our doorstep, start to reap the performance benefits of our British engineering heritage, quality and innovation.”

As a pioneer of Computer Aided Manufacturing technology in the cutting tool manufacturing industry, Quickgrind uses advanced five and seven axis CNC machinery along with the latest inspection equipment. "In addition, it offers an industrial vending solution – QuickVend,” Ross explains, "This gives our customers the added security and conveniences benefits of having an automatically managed supply of tooling at the point-of-use.”

He concludes, "We are committed to driving forward the competitiveness of British engineering. Innovation is the key and this is why we have a continuous programme of investment in staff, machinery and technological breakthroughs.” Stand C91
