Band saw machines introduced

21 December 2014

Expert in designing and producing saw blades, The L.S. Starrett Company has announced that it will introduce its range of band saw machines to the UK. Produced under license, the horizontal and vertical machines offer class-leading material cutting performance, and offer a cost-effective alternative to the general purpose saws already on the market.

Designed for small workshops or for use as a portable solution for site work, the range starts with the S1101 bench band saw. Weighing just 23kg it features a sturdy base and a die cast aluminium bow for rigidity and durability. It can cut tube up to 100 mm diameter and structural section material up to 100 by 150mm using the Starrett 13mm wide band saw blade. It is fitted with a three-pin 13A plug running from a single-phase 240V supply.

All of the gravity feed and semi-automatic band saws feature Starrett’s Dynamometric blade tensioning. This easy to use feature allows the saw operator to correctly tension the saw blade without any tools
