XYZ Machine Tools reports that its first two open houses of 2015, held at its HQ in Burlescombe, Devon, and at its showroom in Blackburn, Lancashire resulted in total sales in excess of £1.3 million.

Martin Burton, sales manager, says: "These open days have been a fantastic success with engineers and buyers from almost 60 companies taking the time to come and talk to us. Many of them arrived ready to place orders there and then, with many more potential sales in the pipeline as a result of discussions that took place. The two events saw 34 machines sold; a high proportion were from XYZ’s ProTURN range of ProtoTRAK controlled lathes, including six SLX 425 X 1.25M specification machines.
"The positive response to these open houses is indicative of the continuing confidence in the UK manufacturing sector and bodes well for the remainder of 2015. With the extensive and versatile range that we have, combined with the expertise gained over XYZ’s 30 years as a leading supplier of machine tools we are well placed to continue where we left off in 2014 with strong sales growth.”
