The service and distribution agreement applies to any MaK or Cat engine installation using a Napier turbocharger and will see Finning’s engineers providing a comprehensive range of maintenance and support services to Napier customers in the UK.

Neil Plummer, manager MaK Marine and Technical Support, explains: "This new agreement will further our strategic objectives of providing professional, after sales service to customers, thereby reducing overall engine ownership costs through increased efficiency and performance. We will be offering a wide range of support options on the full Napier product portfolio, including emergency repair, preventative maintenance and complete inspection and overhaul services, supported by the rapid supply of genuine spare parts.

"We can now offer our customers an enhanced range of services and can schedule routine maintenance on both engine and turbocharger installations at the same time, helping to reduce downtime.  

"We will also be able to offer customers a replacement turbocharger unit during major overhaul or repair to ensure vessel operations remain unaffected.”
