Hair-raising experience for Hairy Biker

12 December 2015

A Wilson Access truck mount has been used to lift Hairy Biker Dave Myers sky-high over the city of Stoke-on-Trent to film a new TV programme called Hairy Builders.

Myers traded in his chef’s hat for a hard hat to work as an apprentice for York-based William Anelay, a construction company specialising in the restoration and conservation of historic buildings.

Wilson Access provided  a 45m Wumag WT450. Gary Shea, William Anelay site manager, said: “The Wilson Access truck mount was ideal for filming. The 45m reach height was more than adequate for the job and the seven man basket capacity meant that we could easily accommodate Dave Myers, a builder, cameraman, soundman and producer, as well as the truck mount operator.”

Hairy Builders is expected to air on BBC 2 next year and viewers should be able to see the Wilson Access truck mount in action.
