Semi-automatic strapping machine

In keeping with Mosca’s modular construction concept, many core components of the robust MO-M-8 including the machine frame, strap dispenser and sealing unit are constructed in the same way as the company’s popular RO-M Fusion. However the semi-automatic MO-M-8 dispenses with the strap guide frame, with the strap wrapped around the package manually – making it easy to use for customers who need to strap a low number of packs while maintaining efficiency and reliability.

Strap return, tension adjustment and the welding of the strap ends are conducted automatically after the strap is placed in the sealing unit to begin the strapping process. An optional table stop for the accurate positioning of individual packages is also available.

The MO-M-8 features a standard three sealing unit usually only used on high performance machines. Temperature is regulated using a controller on the heating blade, and multiple decentralised DC motors replace the central drive in the sealing unit. The direct drive eliminates the need for wearing parts, resulting in a low maintenance and high availability system, while an automatic strap feed on the sealing unit enables the speedy change of the coil. The machine is also energy efficient with a power consumption of only approximately 120 watts.

The design allows the machine to be controlled using Mosca’s MSCB-1 real-time control panel, which enables operators to set strap tension and strap length, using a potentiometer, in order to optimise the process for their specific application. In addition, the soft tension capability makes it easy to strap even delicate products.
