Bearing calculation software for hydraulic pumps

04 October 2016

Precision bearing manufacturer Schaeffler (UK) Ltd has released an online rolling bearing calculation module for hydraulic pumps. The software enables users to quickly and easily select suitable rolling bearings for vertical and horizontally mounted hydraulic pumps.

BEARINX-online Easy Pump is only available in an online format and can be used free of charge. Initial registration is simple and the user can begin calculation work immediately. Register at http://bearinx-online-easy-pump.schaeffler.com

An easy to navigate menu guides the user step-by-step through the software, with inputs presented visually for easy checking. Menu navigation also enables fast, easy input of data for modelling of the shaft using several stages: creation of an impeller, bearing selection and fits for the shaft and housing.

As operating data, the user can input the proportional duration of load cases, speed of the shaft and different operating temperatures, as well as the loads on the shaft system. Inputs also include lubricant data.

All input data can be stored locally, which means any relevant modifications can be made quickly to an existing application scenario such as load variants, size adjustments or comparative calculations, without duplicating the input of data. Stored data can also be exchanged with Schaeffler engineering services in order to verify results or to allow for more detailed analysis.

The full BEARINX family

BEARINX is a high performance bearing design calculation tool, which Schaeffler also provides to its engineers worldwide for designing and configuring bearings for complex machines and systems. Since many customers wish to design their own applications, customer versions of BEARINX are also available. These comprise individual calculation modules taken from the full version of the software, which are made available to customers to allow them to have in-depth involvement in the early stages of the product development process.

The BEARINX customer versions utilise a bearing database in which all of the catalogue bearings from Schaeffler are stored. The bearings’ internal component data are stored invisibly and taken into consideration during the rating life calculation. Calculation results are therefore significantly better than those of a bearing approximation, since the profile data of both the raceways and the rolling elements are taken into consideration.

The BEARINX range includes the BEARINX-online Easy modules, the BEARINX-online calculations for Schaeffler customers, sales partners and universities, and BEARINX-VIP as a local version for development partners.
