'Super' status

02 February 2017

The new MGE with IE5 efficiency from Grundfos is said to be one of the world's most efficient motors.

The company says selecting a pump with these motors incorporated will mean a 10% energy saving as well as up to a 25% reduction in payback time.

The motors' ground-breaking efficiency exceeds the forthcoming IE3 legislative standards, by meeting the strictest IE5 criteria – the highest energy efficiency level for electrical motors. New generation Grundfos MGE motors – from 0.25 kW to 11 kW – now qualify as capable of attaining this ‘super’ status.

The key to these MGE motors unparalleled performance is said to lie in their state-of-the-art intelligent solutions as these adapt to the surrounding system and, coupled with the high-efficiency IE5 motor, drive down energy consumption.

With their integrated frequency converters, these motors combine the accumulated pump experience of Grundfos into their dedicated control software. This combination of pump and customisable software optimises your system’s performance for any load point, delivering an unsurpassed reduction of energy consumption.

All Grundfos MGE-motors in the range of 0.25 to 11 kW now qualify for the IE5 classification that came into effect on January 1st 2017.
